A BLUE CHRISTMAS SERVICE
Do you get the Christmas Blues? Do you suffer from the holiday blahs? Does the constant refrain about the happiness of the Christmas Season and the joy in getting together with family and friends remind you of what you have lost or never had? Broken relationships, job insecurity, the weariness of ill health, or the loss of a loved one often contribute to “feeling blue” at Christmas. For some of us, Christmas is a time when we feel most alone and most aware of our fear and pain and deep sense of loss. At times when the sense of fear and pain and loss are most acute, it’s important to make space and take time to acknowledge our sadness and loss.
Make a space for sadness. Take time to acknowledge loss. Join us as we share prayers and scripture and song that affirm God is present with those who mourn; that God walks those who struggle in the darkness of fear and despair. Join us as we see God’s light shining in our darkness.
Join us Wednesday, December 20, 7:00 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
114 Montecito Ave. Oakland, CA.
