
Grace Cathedral, San Francisco
The Honorary Consul of the Netherlands, Doug Engmann, hosts four young musicians from Holland in honor of Queen's Day, a Dutch national holiday, at Grace Cathedral on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
The performers are pianist Vera Kerstens, violinist Tosca Opdam, pianist Svjatoslav Presnyakov, and flutist Felicia van den End. These musicians are among the best from the Netherlands and are all past winners of the prestigious “Princess Christina” competition.
The program includes Bartَk’s Improvisations, Chopin’s Ballad in g minor, Debussy’s Sonata for violin and piano in g minor and Syrinx, de Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen, Beethoven’s Sonata in d minor, Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Prokofiev’s Suggestion diabolique, Poulenc’s Sonata for flute and piano, and Godard’s Suite in b flat major.
Admission is free.
