Event: 'Benjamin Bachmann In Recital At Grace Cathedral'

The Pentecost Mass. With our Assistant Director of Music, Benjamin Bachmann, at the organ and performed with the Gregorian Chants relevant to the Feast Day. Tongues of fire, springs of water, birds in flight, and a great rush of Wind - Messiaen draws on all his compositional powers when painting his impressions of the Spirit's descent.

Benjamin Bachmann is a native of Akron, Ohio, and received his first organ training there with Robert Quade. He received his Master's Degree at the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Margaret Phillips. At the Royal College, he was the recipient of the Walford Davies Organ Prize in 2004. During his time in London, Ben was Organ Scholar at St. Paul's Knightsbridge and Farm Street Church. Ben works with the choristers in rehearsals and small groups, plays the organ, and assists in conducting the cathedral choirs.

Mr. Bachmann will perform in The Great Quire at Grace Cathedral.
